What the client wanted
The team at Leicester Racecourse were in need of both their male and female toilets refurbishing for their Grandstand. They got in touch with us after talking to a number of other contractors and realised that we were the best option for them!
The old washrooms didn’t really live up to the needs of their customers and didn’t quite suit the luxurious style that the racecourse is looking for. That’s where we came in, after a number of conversations with the team, we were able to get a good understanding of what they were after and how we could help. This meant that we were really excited to get started and our design team instantly go to work. We found that they loved the inclusion of deep greys contrasted with bright whites and a gorgeous wood effect floor for the male washroom. This gave us a lot to work with and offered a different challenge to what we usually do. The client knew what they wanted, but we needed to bring it to life. The same goes for the female washroom too, they loved the idea of a pastel peach/ pink colour complemented by wood effect flooring too.
We know that, like every project we work on, every inch of these washrooms needs to be perfect. We’re trying to create something with a premium style while ensuring that we’re within budget but not impacting functionality.
What we achieved
Our washroom design team were able to create a few different styles and designs for this project so that we could decide on the best options for the client and the space available. Once we had managed to find the best option and the client signed off on the designs, we were able to get started.
From gutting the existing washroom to the finishing touches our teams loved the process of working on this toilet refurbishment.
With the inclusion of brushed chrome down lighting over the sinks/basins, we created a somewhat intimate feeling in the washroom that helps to relax and put people at ease. It also creates great lighting for a mirror selfie! Speaking of mirrors, these lighting fixtures pair really well with the wall-mounted circular mirrors. These mirrors being round meant that we were able to break up space and add a level of fluidity so that it didn’t look so square.
We’ve also used the fantastic Franke F3S self-closing pillar taps on this project which meant that the washroom can be water efficient and use less water as they turn themselves off, reducing the risk of people living them on.
